ABS-CBN
Ruther Urquia
Filipino ventriloquist, world class.
The OFW’s abroad will most surely appreciate his talents which, combined with inherent humour, will please the crowd for more years to come. He should follow the path blazed by Alex Navarette, another crowd pleaser for the Filipinos abroad.
Maiki Oreta

Holy Smokes! Somebody should first give us a rundown of what is happening!
In One Bundle….
Fantastic!
This package is loaded—-
Pinky Webb
Take my word for it. This one is a born leader.
Or a manager, if you please.
I am now sure that this network outfit does not know the talent that it has in its backyard. Mayhaps just plain recognition will not do, eh?

The Weekend Patrol
ABS-CBN’s weekend watch, the TV Patrol Linggo, iterates that the program has always been on the air without fail. Not to my knowledge. The TV Patrol Sabado was aired on Sunday, not Saturday as was always on the Video On Demand. This goes to show how ABS-CBN ignores TFCKo in Canada.
But I guess it was Valentine’s Day so they lumped both days off on a Sunday. Somewhere, somehow, somebody goofed. If not, the blasted studio had a holiday. It is a holiday here, by the way, on Monday. The US will have a different statutory holiday than Canada but holidays for both countries, anyway.
Hey, I give credit when it is due, but nothing when it is not due.
I do give credit when people look great though, and for this reason, I give them flowers.
Well, perhaps only one flower——

You guys look Great!

(I got home on Sunday anyway so I had no time to watch saturday’s, but still, I expected to see Saturday’s VOD there!)
SHOWTIME Suspension
Now that I watched some of the SHOWTIME programs on the ABS-CBN Video on Demand, I see where the MTCRB is coming from. I particularly am aghast at what was said about the teachers by Osang. Now I have seen some of the skin on Osang, but I have my fill of the gamin in Osang. It proves that street lingo cannot be substituted for the proper choice of words when it comes to media and communication.
The three week suspension for this show would not be enough, I opine, to atone for the damage that has been done to the teachers. Osang’s swipe against her co-judge Vice Ganda is pardonable since he is also a member of the production and that the ‘demeaning’ words could be taken as part of the gimmick. But words against those who are not part of the show and would not have anything to do with the show(such as teachers as a group)are of poor taste and should not be allowed to pass without castigation.
I would have imposed a more injurious penalty, were I the one concerned, to the show producers, and to ABS-CBN as a whole, to ‘TEACH’ the networks that abound, a lesson in production, casting, and content. These networks cannot put anything up just to fill up the show time, especially when these shows are aired internationally. They may not be allowed to do this even if the shows are beamed for local consumption. In truth I would have stamped this show as fit only for ‘localized’ consumption, meaning it should be aired only for an area smaller than local.
The program name “SHOWTIME” should be retired from the air.

But of course ABS-CBN can put up any program the company wants. That is, if it refrains from naming the show, “SHOWTIME”. Relak lang kayo diyan!
Suspension for SHOWTIME show
The MTRCB suspends the ABS-CBN program called SHOWTIME.
According to the ABS-CBN news, this is due to Osang’s remarks on the show. Ho-boy, if this Osang be Rosanna Ortiz, I’m interested.
Fans of Osang(including me) would like to see two things of her—–the gamin in her and the skin on her.
Now I have not watched a bit of SHOWTIME since it started, as my interest wanes on shows the formats of which are visible imitations of western shows. But I will watch this show on video on demand to see what the row is all about.
(It is possible that the show has been suspended because of what she wore! )
Take One

Now where in Heaven’s name do they get these lovely ladies?

Sunflowers
ABS-CBN leads the Philippines in providing relief for those affected by the storm ONDOY.
The Sagip Kapamilya have been very indispensable for helping the needy in the country.
God Bless!
But where are the priests, and the pastors, and the ministers?
Are they supposed to be immune to the Acts of God?
Are they like sunflowers that turn only to face the sun? ![]()
High Hopes

Yup! They’ve been trying to sing ever since.
